The result uses available Unicode superscript characters rather than document formatting. Unicode does not provide a matching superscript form for every letter, so unmapped characters remain unchanged.

Why do some letters stay unchanged?
This tool maps supported lowercase letters, digits and signs. Uppercase letters and lowercase c, f and q remain unchanged. To write x², copy the individual ² above and paste it after a normal x; typing x2 converts both supported characters.
